The seller (transferor) completes Form 29 — Notice of Transfer of Ownership.
The buyer (transferee) fills Form 30 — Report of Transfer of Ownership.
Go to vahan.parivahan.gov.in → Vehicle Related Services.
Upload Form 29, 30, insurance certificate, PUC certificate, and address proof.
Pay the ownership transfer fee online.
Visit RTO on the scheduled date with originals for physical verification.
Updated RC with new owner name is dispatched by post.
A personalized or VIP vehicle registration number chosen by the owner (e.g. 0001, 7777, 1111). Allocated via auction on the Vahan portal.
Any vehicle buyer in India can bid for a fancy number at the time of new vehicle registration, before the RC is generated.
Go to fancy.parivahan.gov.in.
Create an account or log in with your credentials.
Browse or search for your preferred number.
Submit your bid amount for the desired number.
Pay the bid amount + processing fee online.
If your bid is highest, the number is allotted at time of RC generation.
