Apply for Learner's Licence or Permanent Driving Licence online. Select your state to begin.
Go to Sarathi Portal →Track your driving licence application status using your application number and date of birth.
Check Status →Renew your expired or about-to-expire driving licence online without visiting the RTO.
Renew Now →Your first step to getting a permanent driving licence. Valid for 6 months.
Go to sarathi.parivahan.gov.in and select your State.
Click "Learner's Licence" → "Apply for LL."
Complete Form 2 with your personal details, upload documents.
Attempt the online traffic rules & road signs knowledge test.
Pay the applicable LL fee online (UPI, Net Banking, Debit Card).
After approval, download your Learner's Licence from the portal.
Requires a valid Learner's Licence held for minimum 30 days.
Go to sarathi.parivahan.gov.in and select your state.
Click "Apply for Driving Licence" and enter your LL number.
Upload Form 1A (if applicable), address proof, age proof, LL copy.
Schedule your driving test appointment at your local RTO.
Visit the RTO on the scheduled date with original documents.
After passing the test, your DL will be dispatched by post to your registered address.
You can renew your licence up to 1 month before expiry. Late renewal attracts a ₹30 penalty.
Lost, damaged, or stolen DL? Apply for a duplicate online.
Visit your nearest police station and file an FIR. Keep a copy.
Go to parivahan.gov.in → Driving Licence Related Services.
Choose "Apply for Duplicate DL" and enter your DL number and DOB.
Upload Form 2, FIR copy (if lost), address proof, and photo.
Pay online and schedule a verification slot at your RTO.
Carry original documents. Duplicate DL will be posted to your address.
Valid for 1 year, allows you to drive in 168+ countries.
Any Indian citizen with a valid permanent Driving Licence and a confirmed foreign travel booking.
Valid DL, Passport, Visa, travel ticket/hotel booking, passport-size photos, Form 4A, and the applicable fee.
