How the e-Auction System Works

1. User Registration

Register on the Fancy Number portal. You will need a mobile number and email for verification.

🎟️

2. Selection & Reservation

Select your desired RTO and browse the 'Available Numbers' list. Pay the non-refundable registration fee and the base reservation fee for your chosen number.

3. The Bidding Process

Wait for the auction window (usually 3 days). Place your bids incrementally. The highest bidder at the end of the window wins the number.

4. Allotment Letter

Pay the balance amount (Winning Bid minus Reservation Fee). Download your allotment letter and take it to your vehicle dealer or RTO for registration.

Physical Verification Needed?

While the Vahan portal supports faceless services, certain steps may still require a physical visit to your local RTO for inspection or document submission.

You can book a VIP number by participating in the e-auction process on the official Fancy Number portal of Parivahan. You need to register, pay the reservation fee, and bid for your desired number.

What is the minimum price for a fancy number?

Prices vary by state and category. In many states, Category 1 numbers (like 0001) start from ₹5 Lakhs, while smaller fancy numbers (like 786 or 1111) start from ₹50,000 to ₹1 Lakh.

Is the fancy number booking fee refundable?

The reservation fee is usually partially refundable if you do not win the auction, but the registration/processing fee is typically non-refundable.
