Traffic violations in India carry severe penalties following the recent amendments to the Motor Vehicles Act. Whether you drive a two-wheeler, a car, or a commercial vehicle, ignoring road safety rules can lead to heavy eChallans, vehicle impoundment, or even suspension of your Driving Licence.

Below is the complete and updated list of traffic fines across India. Keep in mind that while these are the baseline fines defined by the central government, some states may impose localized variations.

1. Driving Licence & Vehicle Document Offences

You must carry your physical documents or have them legally synced in mParivahan or DigiLocker. Failure to produce them when requested by traffic police will result in challans.

  • Driving Without a Licence: ₹5,000
