How to Get Vehicle Loan NOC & Terminate Hypothecation

Last Updated: May 17, 2026

Repaid your loan? Follow this premium guide to remove the bank's name from your RC and get full ownership of your vehicle.

The 3-Step "Ownership Freedom" Workflow

Step 1: Get Bank NOC

Once your last EMI is paid, the bank issues a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and two signed copies of Form 35. This is usually sent to your registered address.

💻

Step 2: Vahan Application

Visit the Parivahan Vahan portal, enter your vehicle details, and select 'Hypothecation Termination'. Upload your documents and pay the RTO fee (approx. ₹100-200).

Step 3: New Smart RC

After RTO approval, a new Registration Certificate (RC) is printed without the bank's name and sent to you. You now have **100% legal ownership**.

Essential Document Checklist

To avoid rejection at the RTO, ensure you have the following documents ready before starting the online termination process:

  • Original Registration Certificate (RC): The physical smart card or paper RC.
  • Bank NOC: Original No Objection Certificate issued by the lender.
  • Form 35 (2 Copies): Duly signed by the bank and the vehicle owner.
  • Valid Insurance & PUC: The vehicle must have active insurance and pollution certificate.
  • Owner's ID Proof: Aadhaar Card or PAN Card copy.
